and please tips on writing scary stories.
I need help on expressing details
And also, I wrote a book. I need an editor and also maybe publishing companies.Where can I find, or can you tell me, tips on writing? Also Publishing companies.?
Good luck!
Writing is a tough tough tough industry.
The best way to get tips etc is to go to workshops with actual authors. Depending on where u live these happen quite regularly, just search the internet and find actual author web sites and the sites of publishing companies and they may list details about workshops etc.
In terms of getting an editor and a publisher these are one in the same. Bigger publishers (Penguin, Bloomsbury etc) DON'T accept books from random individuals and even some smaller publishers don't accept these anymore.
You have to find an agent, show him/her your book and if they think it's good they will take you on and they CAN give it to the bigger publishers but finding an agent is just as hard. (J.K. Rowling took Harry Potter to 8 agents who all said no, on her 9th try a guy finally said he thought he could sell it).
Once again the internet is a good tool for this.
I have to warn u, you must be a BRILLIANT writer to get a story published, nothing less.
In terms of expressing details, if possible, go to a place similar to the one you are writing about and just write what you feel/think/see. That's something I do a lot. That's about all the advice I can give you in this format, but good luck.Where can I find, or can you tell me, tips on writing? Also Publishing companies.?
Finding a publisher is like finding a dress to wear to party. You can't just pick any dress. It's the same for a publisher. You have to know the genre the publishers specialize in.
I also want to be a published writer. I'm specifically interested in the romance genre. I've join many romance writing groups from yahoo and msn. You should do the same: join a writing group. There are thousands of them.
Also check out http://passionatepens.com . The site is for romance writers, but you can get some writing tips and a list of publishers and agents. A lot of the larger publishing house cover all genres. If you choose any of the agents on the list, make sure to read their sites carefully. Some agents specialize in some genre.
I also like Romance Writing Tips at http://groups.msn.com/RomanceWritingTips鈥?/a> It has an excellent library of writing resources, even if you are not writing romance novels.
Another resource is the writer's digest. It has information for all writers. The Writer's Market is a book published annually with names of publishers and agents for all writing formats. You might even be able to borrow this year's or last year's edition at the library.
Finally, go to your favorite writer's website. A lot of authors have tips for aspiring writers. You can even email them questions. A lot of them are willing to help.
