I don't have a book to publish (yet ;D ) but, for future references I was wondering if anyone could make a list of some common and well-known publishing companies w/ links to their websites, puhleese! :D

Pick up any book in the library (any book you read at all) and jot down the publisher from the copyright page and begin building your list. Using books you read will also help if you are writing in the same genre. I write romance so publishers like Brava; Pocketbooks Romance; Avon Historical Romance; are publishers I would submit to first and foremost. Each of the websites for the publisher will have a submission tab. Check the guidelines for the process.
Know that a large publisher like Simon Schuster has several imprints: one for romance, another for fantasy; a third for science fiction; a horror imprint and political drama and so on.
