What publishing companies (without an agent) would publish a young adult book?

I wrote a book about a teenage girl who is emotionally abused by her peers (bullied) and feels that she is unimportant. All this bullying causes her to make a drastic decision that will change her life forever. This is a darker piece of fiction, but as the book goes on it gets happier and happier. Are their any publishers that I could send this to without a literary agent? What publishing companies (without an agent) would publish a young adult book?
If you're looking for a publisher, your best bet is to go to your library or book store and find the most recent edition of a book called "Writers Market". There are tons of listings for publishers, sorted by genre, and you should be able to find several who might be interested in your book.

However, most of these publishers probably won't accept unsolicited (unagented) manuscripts, and I would highly recommend you get an agent anyways. For one thing, they can actually save you a lot of time because they know exactly which publishers would be right for your book and can usually submit to more than one at a time. Without an agent, you'll have to submit to one publisher at a time, wait for your manuscript to be read (6 months or more probably), and if its rejected, you'll have to start all over and that's a lot of time you wasted. An agent will also help you negotiate your contract with a publisher, which can be tricky for a first-time author. Yeah, it is a little extra trouble to get an agent. But its SO worth it in the long run. If you're interested in finding a good agent, you can start your search at this website:

Assuming you find a publisher that accepts unsolicited manuscripts, they will assume one of two things as they toss your book on the pile:

1. This writer has queried every agent on planet Earth and been rejected. This will be a winner.

or

2. This writer is too impatient to try to get an agent. How much do we _not_ want to go through the miserable slog of editing and rewriting a book with someone this impatient?

Seriously, you want an agent if at all possible. What publishing companies (without an agent) would publish a young adult book?
Why don't you publish it as an Ebook? its easier becuase all you o is submit to the Kindle store. And then get 70% of the profit. I was going to publish to the iBook Store but Apple has strict format rules so I am going with Amazons Kindle. becuase you can get the kindle app de the blackberry, iPod, iPad, iPhone, PC, and Mac.

Tell me what your book is called so I can get it, becuase I want to read a book froma actual person and not from a giant company.((:
