Publishing companies?

I'm looking to publish a book soon, but I'm need some help knowing how and where to send my work. Help please? Give me any information you can!Publishing companies?
Almost everyone gets this wrong. You don't send you're work to a publishing company. That's what you're agent does. You can use this big book called the Writer's Market to find an agent. It's updated every year so get the latest edition. You can find it at your local library. Once you come up with a list of agents. Write them and send them a proposal. A proposal is basically a super long letter that basically says "Hey! Represent my book cause its great!" There are a ton of great websites you can use to give you a step by step way to write a good proposal. Just Google how to write a proposal. Once you get an agent that wants to represent you, ya'll will sign a contract. Then, you're agent will take you're book to a ton of different publishing houses. They'll look at you're story and if they want it, they'll buy it and start printing it. Then, when you get some copies sold, you get the money!Publishing companies?

The people here can help you. You need to find an agent, not a publisher. You do this by writing several query letters and waiting for a manuscript request. An agent finds a publisher for you and asks for a percentage.

I can't think of a single person that has been published by submitting straight to a publishing house for a very, very long time.Publishing companies?
Writer's Market is the only book you'll need. I strongly recommend it.
