Does anyone know of any book publishing companies that would publish a 13 yr. old's book?

A friend of mine is trying to get a book published and I'm trying to help out, but I'm not sure what book publishers would publish a thirteen-year-old girl's book. I'm looking for any references to book publishers that could help me.Does anyone know of any book publishing companies that would publish a 13 yr. old's book?
Has your friend mailed a copy of her book to any publishers? When a book is good, any publisher will take on the topic especially if they feel it is going to bring forth large funds. Hey, this could be a great summer project "How to Publish or Self-Publish a Book."

Please advise your friend to make sure she involves her parents in the process. No one under the age of 18 can sign a contract.

Have fun
Trying Robert Munsch, he writes childrens stories and may be able to point you in the right direction, or you can always try checking out the back of some already published chidlrens books and see where they have been published. Good luck.Does anyone know of any book publishing companies that would publish a 13 yr. old's book?
Just go to the library and look at books and who published them. Then, have her contact them and ask how to submit a book for review. They'll say what you need to do. They don't care about the age of the author, they care about the quality of the work.
There are tons of places. I would recommend her trying to publish some smaller/shorter pieces first... try kid oriented magazines like: scholastic, seventeen, teen, highlights, YM, etc and try to build a repetoire. Congratulations should go out to your friend for being so courageous. Tell her to be prepared for rejections, but to hope for the best. I'd hope to read it some day!Does anyone know of any book publishing companies that would publish a 13 yr. old's book?
Please let me know when you find out about a good publishing company. I'm 11 and I've written several novels (though they may be fairly short) but I think they're good!
To find publishers, writers of any age should consult Writer's Market. This book has listings of publishers of books of all kinds, which includes information such as what genres they publish and how to contact them. You should be able to find a copy of the book in the reference section of your local library. There is also an online version of the book, but it's a subscription site. The 2007 version of the book will be released soon, but the 2006 version is still useful.
