The main problem you have I think is that contracts in most countries are only valid between people aged 18 and over - and therefore unless you have a parent or guardian able to sign on your behalf, the contract would not be legally enforcable.

We publish people electronically (so not "paper" books) but even we cannot accept authors under 18 even if their work is superb - UNLESS a parent or legal guardian is prepared to sign a modified contract. There are exceptions under contract law but only if in the interest of the minor AND the minor often has voiding rights. Something which basically leaves a publisher up a creek without a paddle if the author decides to "take his ball home" and cancels all rights.

So your first job is to find a parent or LEGAL guardian who would be able to sign for you - in essence YOU would allocate the rights to your guardian, they could allocate to us. If you reneged on the deal, it is a matter then between you and the guardian - and the guardian would remain obligated to the publisher - at least that is how I recollect it being explained to me - I am not a lawyer but an electronic publisher.

If your material is good and you can sort out the parent / guardian aspect, get in touch with a few publishers.

We only publish people electronically at the moment (e-books) - so possibly not able to help you directly. That said, Steven King sold over 400,000 books on day 1 with Amazon and Barns %26amp; Noble.

If you want more info, feel free to have a look at our site, we make no promises BUT if material is good and we can get around the age aspect, then we are genuine publishers - no "upfront fees" and that sort of nonsense. If ANY publisher wants money from you - walk away. If you material is good THEY will sort out that costs involved.

Any publishing company will publish a manuscript by a 16-year-old, as long as they think they will make a profit out of it.

Age per se is not a factor in an author's publishing success, it just so happens that most people aren't ready to be published until they are a lot older than 16. This is because even very talented writers have to mature, gain life experience and spend lots of time reading and practicing the craft of writing.

The best way to seek publication by a mainstream house is through a literary agent. You will need to submit a query to agents, and if you're lucky one will take you on as a client. Then they will submit your manuscript to publishers. If you're even luckier, one will agree to publish your book. There is heaps of information on how to go about this on YA and elsewhere on the internet. That said, being published is not an easy process. Before you even query an agent, you have to be sure your manuscript is the best you can possibly make it. It's highly unlikely that you, or anyone else your age, has reached this stage yet. Remember, teenaged bestselling phenomena are the exception, not the rule.Does anyone know of a publishing company who will publish books by minors?
You need an agent to find a publisher for you. No publisher is going to take an unsolicited manuscript from an unknown writer, no matter what your age. It just doesn't work that way. Too many people out there think they have a book that's worth publishing. The companies need someone to filter the good stuff out, and authors need someone who knows the various publishing companies and what they're looking for---that "someone" is a literary agent and you haven't a hope of getting a legitimate publisher to take an interest in your work without one.
Have you considered Orca Book Publishers? They have lots of teen and children material.
