How much % of royalty should you get from a publishing company?

I am a first time author and I am looking at publishing companies and I wanted to know what is the average % of royalty that you should receive from a company? The one I am looking at is %25 return which is the royalty.

Join a writers group and ask them. Then read the contract before with the publishing company before you sign it, not all people get the same %.
