I am an English Literature major currently in Washington D.C., which I have discovered to be more involved in engineering and technical science. It is very hard to find jobs related to my field that don't demand 3+ years of experience.
NOTE: DO NOT bring up the fact that English Lit is a bad major, I am well aware of the problems that I face, having graduated with only a Bachelor's in this particular subject. Is there a definitive list of where all the writing, publishing, %26amp; editing companies are mainly located?
You could try the Association of American Publishers.

There is a book called Writers' Market. It specifies publishers, agents, etc. Most publishing is in New York City.Is there a definitive list of where all the writing, publishing, %26amp; editing companies are mainly located?
Why don't you try the "Writer's Market" book ? Most big bookstores have it, it lists any imaginable market; book publishers, magazine publishers, etc.. Within genres, and "trades" . It lists the addresses and how to submit queries and has articles on how to market/publicize yourself. It's updated every year.
