What are the differences in regards of publishing reports between UK quoted and unquoted companies? ?

i understand, that all of the companies have to produce their annual reports and comply with the Companies Act 2006 or IFRS (UK %26amp; Ireland) whilst doing it. What i need to find out is what are the rules regarding publishing those accounts between quoted and non-quoted companies in the UK and where exactly i can find this information. i tried london stock exchange web site and their rule book but unfortunately i could not find anything that would help me. thank you for all detailed answers. What are the differences in regards of publishing reports between UK quoted and unquoted companies? ?
I don't think a company has to publish its accounts or even need to have an annual report if it is unquoted. The quoted companies are traded and obviously investors should have access to the accounts. If the company is unquoted and therefore there is no public trade in their shares why should they be required to published their accounts? Unless of course they are seeking a listing
