What are some good book publishing companies?

Penguin is a major publishing house. They do not accept unsolicited submissions. They deal with agents. Anything you sent to them would become paper shredder fodder and you would get a nice form letter rejection.

You need to get a copy of Writers Market 2007 and read it. In it, you will find agents reading works in your genre as well as smaller publishers. Major publishers dont accept unsolicited submissions.

You can also go to Resolved Answers here and search publisher and publishing for more information you can print out and read. But Writers Market is the industry standard source.

Before you send anything to anyone, check them out with Preditors and Editors and Absolute Write Water Cooler Bewares and Background Checks. There are a lot of frauds and scams out there. Pax - CWhat are some good book publishing companies?

I have a book being published right now and it's a gripping true story. The publisher is Infinity Publishing; they are a great bunch of people. They are on the web, of course, at www.infinitypublishing.com. Call them and ask for Alex. Tell him Irene sent you. ;o)What are some good book publishing companies?

The Writer's Market is great, but costly.

The website for preditors and editors is very helpful in finding out where NOT to go along with the best voted of the year. Google it and check it out.
Walk through a bookstore, pick up books you like and look at the spine or the copyright page to see who the publisher is. The good publishers are the ones that have books in real bookstores.
