Do I haft to Edit my book before I send it in to publishing companies or do they do it?

like correcting every little thing such as puncuations and etc??Do I haft to Edit my book before I send it in to publishing companies or do they do it?
Before you even go looking for an agent, you need to have your book as "perfect" as you can get it. Mistakes are okay b/c it's human to make errors, but you need to make sure it's the best you can get it before sending it off. Agents %26amp; editors don't want to waste time having to make sure you have a period at the end of every sentence. They expect the basic punctuation (commas, periods, quotation marks, etc.) to be in place when obviously needed. Double check for typos too. It's easy to do.

As for an agent, I was going to suggest The Writer's Market, but rafferty beat me to it. Also, I'm including a link of things to watch out for when querying agents so you don't get scammed. Good luck!Do I haft to Edit my book before I send it in to publishing companies or do they do it?
Your agent should help with this, they may edit it then shop your story around to publishing companies.

But that doesn't mean you should slack off... you should perfect it to set a good impression to your editor, otherwise they will just reject it.

EDIT: To find an agent, look through the Writers Handbook, you could probably find last years on discount... it will more than likely have all the same agents and publishers as it has this year. :) Anyway, in the Writers Handbook it has a list of loads of Agents and tells you what they require to be sent to them.

well, yes.

Your agent should have gone over all this with you, but you send in the first three chapters - perfectly done - and a synopsis of the book.

Be sure to include a self address stamped envelope for return correspondence.

EDIT - I just updated my other response as well. Go pick up a copy of The Writer's Market at your local book store. It is exactly the resource you need to get started.
Yeah, I would think so. Why would they want to publish your book if you can't spell correctly? It doesn't make a good impression. So yes, you would "haft" to edit your book.

Good luck, hope it gets published! :D
