Book publishing companies?

I was just wondering if anyone knew any companies that would publish a book that you wrote so it looked like one you would buy in stores. Someone told me that you could, but she didn't know where to go.Book publishing companies?
Do you mean "publish" as in print thousands of copies and market them to Barnes%26amp;Nobel, WalMart, Boarders, etc. or are you talking about printing one or two copies and binding it in a nice cover?

Your best bet then would be to go to a printer. I would suggest a "real" printer as opposed to a copy shop like Kinkos or Staples, they are going to be able to offer you the most options as far as a hard-cover book versus a paperback or even a saddlestitched magazize type binding. As well as the way the interior of the book is set-up and printed.Book publishing companies?
For your intent and purpose, "a few copies for me and my friends," you are asking for a printer.

The most affordable choice would be Kinko's, Office Depot, or some other (See Directory re: Printers).

You can select the type of binding you wish. Your book might not look like those in stores.

You might go to Print on Demand, vanity presses; e.g., lulu.com, iUniverse (Google POD publishers), for which you will need to pay.

Yep. Check out lulu.com - that's their speciality.
